Kim Jong-un decided to start negotiations with South Korea
Discussion of the possible participation of the DPRK in the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang will be held along the “hot line” on the border of the two countries.
DPRK leader Kim Jong Un ordered the leadership of the country to prepare for the start of talks with South Korea about the participation of North Korean athletes in the 2018 Olympic Games, which will be held in Pyeongchang. To this end, by 9:30 am Moscow time, the special communication line in Panmunjom will be restored at the border of the two countries.
“Supporting the decision of the leadership, we will establish close contacts with South Korea in the most sincere and honest manner,” said the head of the Inter-Korean Affairs Agency Ri Song Von.
He also noted that during the talks, working questions will be raised regarding the possible dispatch of the DPRK delegation to Pyeongchang, reports Mr.Henhap.
Earlier, Kim Jong-yin announced his intention to send the national team to the 2018 Olympics, as this is a “good chance for demonstrating the opportunities” of the country and its people.
President of South Korea, Mr. Moon Zhe Ying, has already welcomed such an initiative of Pyongyang.
