Relations between Azerbaijan and Russia have reached the level of strategic partnership, both sides characterize them, and there is a very positive dynamics to growth. This was stated by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev during his speech at the informal meeting of CIS heads of state in Moscow.
As Aliyev noted, under the leadership of Russian President Vladimir Putin, social and political stability is ensured, and it naturally relies on public consent. According to him, there is no doubt in Azerbaijan that the Russian people will make the right choice in the forthcoming presidential elections, reports Trend.az.
Aliyev believes that the successful development of bilateral Russian-Azerbaijani relations is connected with the name of Putin. “Today, these relations have reached a level of strategic partnership, both sides characterize them, and have a very positive dynamics for growth. Once again I return to the fact that it is impossible to achieve success without political stability. We have seen enough in recent years for bloody events, for clashes, for dislike, for inter-religious strife, for interfaith contradictions, for ethnic conflicts. Therefore, of course, all this international existing panorama once again speaks about the correctness of the course that you are implementing, “he said, referring to the Russian leader.
Today, Russia is a factor of stabilization on a global scale, Aliyev said. Russia under Putin’s leadership regained its dignity, restored the role that the Soviet Union had successfully played in the international arena and is now very actively contributing to the consolidation of peace on a global scale. “And of course, we are very encouraged and happy that Russia is declaring, and in practice, pursuing a policy based on the rule of law and international law,” the Azerbaijani leader said.
He also noted that in many cases the norms of international law are not observed, sometimes violated roughly, thereby undermining the world order, the world order that was created after the end of the Great Patriotic War.
