“In the event that the IOC requirements are met, removal from the OCD can be lifted on the last day of the Olympics, in which case Russian athletes will be able to pass under the national flag at the closing ceremony,” he said.
At the meeting of the IOC executive committee on Tuesday, the president of the ROC apologized for the violations of the anti-doping rules that were admitted in Russia. Earlier it was reported that the executive committee of the IOC decided to temporarily suspend the membership of the ROC in the organization and removed the Russian team from participating in the 2018 Olympics. Only pure Russian athletes and neutral status will be able to perform in Pyeongchang.
